Work

An appeal for Aurora’s first masjid: thirty seconds, made to work with the sound off.

Al-Abrar was founded in 2015 by five people, has grown to over a thousand, has bought its own building, and is raising $97,000 to renovate it. We made the appeal they can share: the bare hall becomes a full prayer hall, in thirty seconds, with the sound off.

An animated prayer hall under a timber roof, its floor covered in green prayer-row carpet, lamps lit, with the words: $97,000 to make it ready for generations.
No sound: the words are the ad.

What we did

Six beats in thirty seconds, built only from the masjid’s own facts and numbers: five people in 2015, over a thousand today, and a $97,000 goal. The hall is drawn as it is now, bare under its timber roof, and then transformed: the carpet unrolls in prayer rows, the lamps come up, and the rows fill. Worshippers are shown only from behind, standing in straight rows. The last card is theirs, with their logo and their donate link, and our credit small underneath.

It comes in two shapes from one production: vertical for phones and social media, and widescreen for their website and the screen in the hall. Every line stays on screen long enough to read on a phone.

The number beside the video counts plays on this site, and nothing about who watched. How this view count works, and what it doesn’t record.
